A very large tree at maturity, the White Pine is one of the largest trees in Minnesota. The White Pine can grow about 2 feet a year. The needles are about 2 inches in length, and are very fine.
Below a White Pine you will find many needles because about a third of the needles are shed each fall. This tree will tolerate a variety of soil conditions. It will do well in full sun or partial shade. Watering thoroughly in the late fall helps to prevent winter burn.
