The Black Hills Spruce tree is a very hardy evergreen in Minnesota, as well as being a native plant. The needles on the black hills spruce are about one-half inch in length and are soft to the touch. The Black Hills Spruce tends to be mostly green in color, but some can also be slighty blue also.
This tree likes full sun, but will also tolerate partial shade. The Black Hills Spruce is commonly used for screening or a specimen tree.
