The Colorado Spruce Tree (picea pungens) is a very common evergreen tree in Minnesota. It can range in color from very blue to all shades of green. Colorado Spruce are used heavily for making a natural screen and as individual specimans. They also add a beautiful element to your winter landscape.

They should be planted in full sun and should not be sprayed regularly by an irrigation system or shaded by other trees. Colorado Spruce will tolerate many soil conditions, but do not like excessive water.

This tree likes full sun, but will also tolerate partial shade. The Black Hills Spruce is commonly used for screening or a specimen tree.
